Mr. Buzbee entered law school at the University of Houston Law Center after leaving the Marine Corps. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and former adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center. \r\n\r\nAside from legal practice, Mr. Buzbee oversees the activities of Buzbee Properties, Inc., a company that owns and manages more than 80 commercial and retail properties across three states. He is also a board member of Hometown Bank, S.A.; past board member of The Jesse Tree (a nonprofit organization that assists the homeless and those in need) and Boy Scouts of America, Bay Area Council. He is a past member of the Texas A&M University at Galveston Board of Visitors and past director of the Houston Law Alumni Foundation.\r\n\r\nMr. Buzbee was appointed to the Board of Regents by Governor Rick Perry in 2013. He serves as a member of the Committee on Audit and the Committee on Buildings and Physical Plant. He has served as Chair of the Committee on Audit, as a member of the Committee on Finance and the Committee on Academic and Student Affairs. He also served as a liaison to The Association of Former Students and the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and A&M System Military Training Programs.
